Child-Related Relief in Protection Orders

This map summarizes state statutes that permit a protection order to include an order regarding custody or parenting time, for child support, or for other child-related relief. For child support, only provisions authorizing payments directly to the petitioner, rather than to third parties on behalf of the petitioner or child (e.g., mortgage or other bill payments, payments to child care, etc.) are included. Click here to download a complete text table with each state's provisions.
